I have found, in my journeys, that the three subjects in this post’s title often go hand in hand.
Explanations: By kink I mean people who are into alternative BDSM and D/s lifestyles. Bisexuality is self-explanatory. And open relationships is about couples who may each have more than one sexual partner.
I suppose the three combined is about as far as one can stray from the traditional relationship model. Of course, one or two can preclude the other(s), i.e. one can be bisexual and in an open relationship without being involved in the world of kink. Regardless of the permutations, it all suggests to me a certain liberation that could be likened to a swinger lifestyle . . .
These are my thoughts on this first day of the New Year, which I offer for discussion purposes. Feel free to talk about the three individually, or collectively.
Does bisexuality represent sexual liberation to you?
How about open relationships? Liberation?
And kink?

Hmm…I am all three and do not liken it to the swinger lifestyle. Poly/open relationships involve the emotional aspect where as swinging is just sex. I’m in a 24/7 bdsm M/s marriage and we only include other women.
There is no liberation in my bisexuality – it’s just who I am. Hopefully that makes sense. It’d be like asking someone straight if they feel liberated by it. Nope, prob not, it’s just who they are. Liberation is being free, which would suggest (in my opinion) it was once something that imprisoned you, you struggled with, etc. etc. I never struggled with my bisexuality – I knew from day 1 I was bi and so did my parents.
With that being said I do find liberation in my kink – as it took me a long time to accept and embrace. I have never felt more free than when when accepting I am perfectly content being in a 24/7 Master/slave marriage.
